Regional Geoarchaeology’s (2 days), 2 ects.
The Reading soils and sediments workshop focusses on the creation and interpretation of regional geoarchaeology’s in archaeological site and landscape settings. Examples may include the Americas, Mediterranean and Middle East, North-west Europe, North Atlantic region and South Asia. Student research focus will determine regions considered.

Day 1
Introduction
Seminar 1: Reading soils and sediments
Seminar 2: Geoarchaeology field examples I
Seminar 3: Geoarchaeology field examples II

Day 2:
Seminar 4: Guided preparation of student presentations, mini-presentations from teachers.

Seminar 5: Student presentations on research projects with a geoarchaeological focus

Assignment: To build a presentation relating archaeological research problems to geoarchaeology methods

Assessment:  50% presentation, 50% final exam
