Introduction

Dutch archaeologists have a rich tradition of studies on Mediterranean Landscapes. Prof. Peter Attema is one of the key scholars within what is now internationally recognised as the Dutch school of Mediterranean landscape archaeology. This workshop celebrates the achievements of this school, which has developed a thoroughly interdisciplinary approach to the study of Mediterranean landscapes and societies. The program is designed to retrospectively evaluate the contributions of this School (keynote), discuss recent developments and future perspectives (invited lectures) and presents on-going research by junior scholars (PhD and postdoc pitches). The event is concluded with Peter’s valedictory lecture.

Call for pitches

As part of the symposium, we offer junior academics (ReMAs, PhDs, and postdocs) the opportunity to present ongoing research on Mediterranean Landscapes in a lightning session. This session will consist of 5 minute presentations (pitches), followed by Q&A. If you are interetsed in presenting your research on this occasion, please send an email to tymon.de.haas@rug.nl.

Credits: ARCHON members can receive 1 ECT for attending the conference and handing in a reflection report afterwards.
